Well they came, they saw and they quizzed, and 32 Beaver Scouts have had a fabulous afternoon having fun and meeting new friends from around the District!!!!!! All who took part had a great time, but someone has to win, and this time it was Nuneaton Central, so well done to them, and also to all the Beavers from all the colonies who took part and did so well. Thankyou to all the leaders who put the afternoon together and who brought the Beavers to take part!!!!!
On March 3rd these fabulous badges will be available through your District Badge Secretary!!! They recognise the fact that our youngest members of the Scout Association will be showing the newer members the way forward!!!!!!! Get them ordered from next week!!!!
We're pleased to announce the launch of some exciting new resources to support peer leadership in Scouting.
Take a look online: http://bit.ly/2lDmeIu and start using the resources with your section.
Cut off date of March 17th for you to register your colonies is now looming fast. Some colonies are already booked in, so if you haven't yet got your deposits in and registration form submitted to ADC, please do so asap when half-term is over. New starters can still be added as extra numbers up until May 5th. No numbers can be added after then. You can e-mail the form to me, and then you can pay your required deposits or event fees in full, either by cash or a group cheque made payable to Nuneaton District Scouts, and either to me in person or by online payment to the District Treasurer. No personal cheques please.
1st Nuneaton Beavers had a super visit recently to St Mary's church where they were shown around and entertained for the evening by Father Mark. All completed their Faith badge, so well done everyone, and a big thankyou to Father Mark too!!!!!
Members of the County ACC/ADC Beaver section were out today at the Heart of England Conference Centre on a very cold and wintry day to consolidate the planning for the Beaver County Activity day on June 17th. A site visit was held to get the contingency plan into being for the safe arrival and exit of our Beaver Scouts on what will be a fabulous day full of fun and activities, not to mention making new Scouting friends from around the County!!!!! However!!!!! WE NEED YOUR HELP!! We need people to help with the delivery of the day, so whether you're a dad, mum, uncle or grandparent, we have a job for you to do!!!!!! Please ask your child's section leader to put you in touch with me so that we can make sure that our young people get the very best experience possible from this brilliant day.
Well what an achievement from our youngest Scouts, and a fabulous start to Nuneaton Districts Youth Shaped month!!!!!! It all started out as part of their team work badge and as part of You Shape week. Coton beavers had a log chew and decided that they would raise money for "old people" aka Dementia U.K. by selling their old toys and books and cakes. They organised their own collecting donations, designed the posters and invited their friends and family as well as manning the sale itself. And they raised the grand total of £227.18!! Well done Coton Beaver Scouts!!!!!
