All of these mediums generally were to do with positive comments about Nuneaton District scouts and our Saint George’s celebration and the cost of a road closure, which led to our decision not to parade purely based on value for money and not giving away a charities finance to a business!
(the executive committee discussed this element at some length and were all agreed in the decision) communication lines are open for next year and with support from out MP Marcus Jones, Warwickshire police and the Council we will work together to arrange to rectify this next year. We should seek to continue to have our parade in a carnival fun style and engage at every level.
However, we did celebrate together with a fun interpretation led this year by Nuneaton Central scout group, well done to Shaun Marshall and his team. Each section of the group took part and included a poem of St George from the Beavers (all from memory) cubs leading the hall in a rendition of we will rock you and scouting all over the world with scout presenting the alternative survival kit. The service was led by young people from the group.
