Nuneaton District were once again out and about in the community, this time at Nuneaton Armed Forces Day.
A very exciting day for Nuneaton District Scouts. Over 50 young people, leaders and helpers turned out on a glorious day to join in the fun of carnival day. With the theme of the day being the magic of carnival and seeing Nuneaton Carnival celebrate its 85th year it was only right that the Scouts get involved.
Dressed in bright colours, with hats, flags and balloons, Nuneaton District Scouts won best in category for walkers. Marcus Jones the local MP presented a trophy and rosette to mark the achievement.
All the money collected is distributed to local charities around the borough and to good and worthy causes. Which fits in nicely with the start of A Million Hands and the Community Impact Project. As a District we intend to carry on this by getting involved in more events around the borough and helping local people. Our next event is Armed Forces Day incorporating Gurkha 200 on the 27th June where we will be serving refreshments.
Sam Marshall is the District Commissioner for Nuneaton District.
