I would like to wish each and every one involved in Scouting across the District a very merry Christmas and a Happy and peaceful New Year. This time of year always seems to be the time to seek out new horizons and develop new aspirations; to renew the strength and faith within ourselves and those around us. Together we can fulfil those new dreams, create new opportunities and take on successful journeys in our Scouting travels. Thank you for all that you do.
In the past week the District Executive have met and have agreed to a quote to purchase some new kayaks to upgrade our fleet. Other topics discussed were the need to add to our plan for scouting in our District, utilising the County work plan along side. This is something that will be booked in the New Year and seek to involve scouting managers i.e. the gsl's, district team and executive members.
Adults should again check their roles are up to date and in particular crb renewals are applied for in advance, hq have introduced a system whereby roles will be notified for renewals close to expiry
Ongoing checks for membership appointment roles should commence now by GSL's in readiness for Census, preparation leading up to census will help make the recording process smoother.
The County Cub quiz was represented by our own District quiz winners 1st Bulkington and our runners up team 1st Bedworth. Well done to both teams for getting there with Bulkinton coming in third place behind the first two place teams from Rugby.
Have great week.
Sam Marshall is the District Commissioner for Nuneaton District.
