So what’s the contrast all about, well it’s about the adventure of scouting behind all the ‘business’ stuff’ we have to do, we clearly are there to ensure scouts from all of our sections enjoy their adventure in a structured, planned and safe way. I am delighted that Nuneaton District Scouts have ample opportunities at group and District level to do just that.
With that in mind our District camp took place over the bank holiday weekend and for once the weather was kind to us, after a drizzly start and some hail, but then the sun came out. There were around 400 attendees taking part at Willesley campsite in a whole range of activities, from archery, water events, climbing, potholing, pedal cars etc.. sixteen events in total together with another six or so beaver scout only options, to ensure every age could join in and be part of our journey together. One adult’s journey was a little further than most in a helicopter and I am delighted to report she is on the mend. It was overall a great weekend, for I would like to thank everyone for giving up their time and all the hard work put in to make it so successful.
