I would like to thank everyone in any role, helping with this year Gang Show, a great effort put in by all.
Nuneaton District Scouts and Guides got together again for our annual Gang Show in the past week with a cast of 80 young people of all ages (a few older members too) and mixed ability, got up on stage and entertained a very enthusiastic audience with their singing, dancing and sketches.
The gang was wearing some brand new costumes this year for the opening numbers of black and silver velvet shirts they looked great
A great feature was a duo of a scout and a guide singing “Anything Guides can do…scouts can do better”. Which appeared later as an acknowledge friendship in our joint venture
The running sketch was very funny based on ‘Open all hours’ with reference to modern mobile and electronic tablets, very clever and funny too.
‘Sounds of the 80’s’ ended the first half of the show.
A personal highlight for me was the ‘Fun house’ clown dance, some great moves and costumes giving it a real impact.
The gang return after the interval in more new outfits of bright & colourful sparkling hoodies in a Glee style piece with high energy and action with a range familiar of songs.
The finale of the evening ended with an harmonious version of the Queens Jubilee song ‘sing’ and of course a Nuneaton show avourite ‘these are the times we shall dream’ about and ‘Crest of a wave’ a great finale and some excellent singing.
Well done Gang, another brilliant show.
Sam Marshall is the District Commissioner for Nuneaton District.
